About Phil

Curious about people.
Sceptical of easy answers.

An insight leader and practitioner-researcher working between customer understanding, commercial decisions and organisational change.

Phil Pegram, insight and analytics leader
Phil Pegram · North West England

From intelligence to insight.

I’m Head of Insights, Analytics and Market Research at TalkTalk. My work connects attitudinal and behavioural evidence with decisions about customers, products and services.

Previously, I was Insights Director at dentsu, leading mixed-methods research and analytics programmes. Earlier, I served in the British Army, working in geographic and all-source intelligence.

Those settings ask different things of an analyst. Across them, my interest is in how people judge uncertain evidence, explain a recommendation and take responsibility for a decision.

Alongside my professional work, I’m a DBA researcher at Teesside University. My current academic work examines organisational evidence capacity in third sector policy delivery.

I completed an MBA at the University of Staffordshire. My 2025 dissertation examined military training, veterans’ career trajectories and social mobility.

I also founded Mosaic CIC, registered as MOSAIC (NW) CIC. It is a separate community-interest initiative focused on barriers to opportunity in North West England.

My professional background is also described in CDO Magazine and my LinkedIn profile.
